New Delhi: Ahead of the Assembly elections in several states, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced key organisational appointments. In a major development, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the BJP’s election in-charge for Tamil Nadu.

What other announcements were made?

Announcing the same, the party said Piyush Goyal will be assisted by Arjun Ram Meghwal and Murlidhar Mohol, as the co-in-charges for the state. Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader Baijayant Panda has been given the role of election in-charge for Assam. He will be assisted by Sunil Kumar Sharma and Darshana Ben Jardosh, as co-in-charges.

Who was appointed as the BJP's national working president?

Earlier, on Sunday, Bihar minister Nitin Nabin was appointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national working president. After his appointment Nitin Nabin paid tribute to his father. Talking to the reporter, Nabin said, “…I have come to pay tribute to my father. I also had the darshan at Mahavir Mandir, which fills us with energy. It is with the blessings of my father that I could reach where I am in these 20 years. I will begin the journey ahead with the blessings of my father."

“I am going to the temple to seek the blessings of the Almighty… The party has always entrusted the party workers with responsibilities and motivated them to work harder. I will strive to stand up to the expectations of the party leadership…" Nabin said.

How was NDA's performance in the Bihar Assembly Elections?

It is to be noted here that the National Democratic Alliance (BJP) emerged victorious in the 2025 Bihar elections. In the recently held, Bihar Assembly Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, after the Janata Dal United (JDU), which secured 85 seats. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won just 25 seats.
